Buhari says treasury looters now regretting their actions

Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said the people who stole the $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of military hardware to fight insurgency are now regretting their actions, reports Vanguard.
Buhari disclosed this while receiving the Northern Christian Leaders Eagles Eyes Forum at the State House.
He said it was saddening that some of those who stole from the country's national resources put the money in their personal accounts.
Buhari stated that it was gratifying that those who stole money and shared funds meant for the purchase of arms for military are regretting their actions, noting that they will regret more.
The Nation reports that the President reiterated his earlier threat that those caught in corruption will have themselves to blame.
He thanked the Christian leaders for their support to the Federal Government’s anti-corruption campaign and other policies geared towards reviving the economy.
He added that his administration will not hide anything from Nigerians in its resolute commitment to restore the economic fortunes of the country and deliver prosperity to them.
